People managers with experience in the veterinary industry, dentistry (dental), ophthalmology, retail, restaurants (food services), accounting, or a related professional service focused on customer service are also encouraged to apply.The successful candidate will serve as a steady, balanced leader focused on:Administrative and operational tasks and functionsStrategic PlanningBusiness plan development and championing its implementationAccreditation, Certification and other Medical SOPsClient Care, Patient Care and ComplianceKPI management, Best Practices and Operational SOPsRevenue growth and cost management, particularly in the area of labour and Cost of Sales (COS)Teambuilding and Professional Development, considering patient and hospital needsHuman Resources Management & Conflict ResolutionHiring, Onboarding, TrainingPerformance ReviewsClient Service & Hospital marketing supportMonthly analysis and reporting, and operationalizing areas for improvementPetsOversee, support and nurture the pet experience by ensuring that the Hospital has the necessary resources, equipment, and team members necessary to offer the best possible medical, surgical and emergency careEnsure medical teams have access to continuing education, mentorship and development opportunities to support continuous improvement and enhance patient careExpand clinical services and service offeringsLiase with P3’s Medical Advisory Board, university professors, college instructors, industry program providers and individual instructors to develop and coordinate coursesPeopleMaintain the exceptional relationship that has been built with hospital leads and their teams, and extend that capability to referring Veterinary Practices. Develop plans for growth and improvement based on results of annual surveys and communication to P3 team membersPracticeDevelop annual budgets and short- and long-term business plans for HospitalUse available resources to analyze and make effective actionable decisions that impact operations including asset purchases, new hires and rate changesWork to identify revenue opportunities and solve barriers through the detailed review of data management and reporting platformsOversee regular strategy & budgeting meetingsWork with Department Team Leads to prioritize equipment and facility needs. Assist with sourcing and purchasing as neededEnsure the Hospital is efficient & profitableReview hiring and compensation requests to ensure the size of the veterinary team aligns with budgets and demand Ensure that fee schedules are current, revenue category budgets are achieved, and shorts are investigatedEnsure that bi-annual inventory counts are performed and that inventory is maintained within approved budgetary levels Work with Home Office team to ensure that all controls, standards, requirements, rules & regulations are followed & any training needed is conducted (Regulators, Employment Standards, AAHA, WHMIS, OHS, Xray etc)Work with the Medical Director and Department Leads to prioritize equipment, facility and I.T. needs and assist in the development of business plans for large equipment purchasesQualifications & Experience: Proven team-oriented communicator with experience in effectively coaching, advising and leading peopleProven ability to build and nurture relationships at all levelsAbility to negotiate, influence and communicate in a clear and effective mannerProven experience implementing sustainable solutions and creating impactAn approach that is progressive, strategic, humble, and achievement orientedExperience leading and supporting significant growthA vision to foster an inclusive, employee-centric cultureIn-depth understanding of HR and proven experience leading and innovating practices to create and develop an optimal workforce in support of its strategic priorities and objectives5 years or more of experience in hospital operations with budget management and profit and loss responsibilityPrevious history working in a veterinary hospital or supporting veterinary hospital teams is preferredKnowledge of veterinary practice management software, such as AVImark, is preferredExperience in developing strategic and multi-year business plans, resource forecasts, and in managing operational budgets is an assetCertified Veterinary Practice Management designation or similar is an assetCollege or university degree in business, animal/veterinary science, healthcare administration, hospital management, human resources, accounting or marketing (BSc, BComm, CPA) preferred.
