Competitive salary Excellent benefit package with premiums paid by the company RRSP Match Safety-minded organization Stable, year-round employment with overtime available Continuous training, learning and development opportunities Fun-loving work environment with strong social responsibility What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment on a shop/field rotation, spending two-weeks at a time in the Cooper Equipment Rentals shop and two-weeks in the field at a local mine-site (day shifts - above ground work only) In the field, conduct scheduled mechanical maintenance and inspections for equipment mainly composed of diesel light towers, while assisting with with lube and services for various other pieces of equipment Respond to unscheduled mobile maintenance (breakdowns) to start or repair vehicles and equipment that are disabled In the shop, assist with inspections, maintenance and repairs on equipment including (but not limited to) aerial lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, excavators and skid steers Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner Maintain a clean work vehicle and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment Follow all company and work-site policies and procedures, and governmental and equipment related safety requirements What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing various construction equipment such as man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, excavators, rail shunters and skid steers Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic or Truck and Coach (421A or 310T) license is an asset, but not required Must participate in drug and alcohol testing required to enter the work site (while on the 2-week field rotation) Valid G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract Flexibility; must be comfortable with adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment and with changing between the shop and field environments Must have own tools Excellent problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner. Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as with a team Pride in what you do!
