Job Description

Role:Responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s health and safety programs and procedures and processes to prevent and reduce the frequency and severity of workplace accidents.Responsibilities and Duties:Oversee the company’s health and safety activities and requirementsImplement policies, procedures, programs to comply with regulatory health and safety requirementsContinuously audit current processes, identify gaps; implement effective health and safety solutions Travel to project sites to perform periodic audits and training; ensure and enforce health and safety regulations and requirementsPrepare and present periodic health and safety reports, statistics (business cases, statistical analysisPartner with external safety providers to obtain quality health and safety training and services, and access to personal protective equipmentParticipate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings to identify and address hazards, conduct periodic inspections and make recommendations to managementParticipate in investigation and case management of workplace injury and incidentsDevelop periodic health and safety advisories to target specific hazards and participate in emergency planning and responseCoordinate the training requirements for employees; obtain and maintain records of valid certificates, licenses for deploymentMaintain company’s safety equipmentRequirements:Completion of Occupational Health & Safety Management Certificate an assetExperienced health and safety professional with exposure to and experience within the construction/electrical services industry and Information Technology Professional Services industry Working knowledge of all applicable Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations including the OHSA - Occupational Health and Safety ActAdvanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)G Licence and clear driving abstract with access to own personal vehicle Drive to Ontario work sites and travel to work sites across Canada for projects on short notice over extended periods of time Be available and perform on-call for emergenciesExperienced in incident and accident investigation and report writingExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;Strong organization, planning and problem-solving skills Strong sense of urgency; Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentBilingualism - English and French – verbal and written an assetExperience in Health and Safety policy writing, and technical writing, an asset Certification as a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), a plus
