What You Will Do
· Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with WorkSafeBC regulations
· Monitor and stay up to date on safety regulations applicable to the restoration industry
· Investigating accidents, incidents and near-miss events to determine root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence
· Collaborating with all departments to promote safety initiatives
· Provide regular safety training and meetings to promote awareness
· Maintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents and training
· Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters
· Participate in Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings
What You Have
· Education or relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety
· Construction Safety Officer certification is required
· Valid Occupational First Aid Level 2 or higher
· Valid Class 5 License with a clean drivers abstract
· Experience in the restoration industry is an asset
· Well versed in creating emergency response plans tailored to various scenarios
· In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks
· Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety procedures and protocols
