The HSE Coordinator works closely with operational personnel in the Ontario region to give support and technical assistance for the implementation and administration of the Health, Safety and Environmental program and Employee HSE Training at Bruce A Project Site. This position reports directly to the Regional HSE Manager/Site Manager/Local Project Manager/Overall Project Manager.PLEASE NOTE: This position requires travel to the Bruce A Project site in Tiverton, ON. Accommodation will be paid for. Job ResponsibilitiesAssist the Regional HSE Manager in providing training to employeesEnsure that training requirements are met for each employee, either through conducting training or outsourcing training. Responsible for maintaining the training database at the project Site.Maintain a training matrix to track employee training for the regionTrack online training compliance of employees and provide General Managers with regular training compliance update reports.Assist the Regional HSE Manager in tracking, trending, and responding to Safety Observation Cards. Maintain a spreadsheet to track participation. Provide reports to General Managers every week.Ensure that all Injuries, Equipment Damage Events, Vehicle Accidents, Near Hits, and Environmental Impacts are reported and captured inside the Incident Portal within 24 hours of the event, or as soon as reasonably possible.Update Comply Works and Ontario Safety Lows & standards.Assist Regional HSE Manager in tracking corrective actions from investigations to completion.Manage regional PPE, maintaining a proper inventory and managing PPE needs on-budget.Assist the Regional HSE Manager in conducting Field Audits, Facility Audits, and Personnel Audits to track compliance with the HSE Management System.Work with the Regional Management team to develop corrective action plans for deficiencies found during audits.Maintain a regional action item log for items needing to be addressed outside of the scope of incident investigations.Maintain safety files for all the HSE related paperwork generated (FLHA, Meeting Minutes, ERPs, etc.).Create monthly safety meetings at Project Site/yard.Assist with daily toolbox safety meetings at Project Site/yard.Assist Regional HSE Manager with bi-weekly HSE conference call prep.Co-chair Joint Worksite Health and Safety Committee and assist with quarterly meetings.Submitting SOC reports to mangers weeklyComplete monthly Reward Network points for all Canadian employees.Provide summary of H&S status, as per approved PSHP: Total Hours WorkedField level Assessment CompletedInspection Action Items CompletedSafety Opportunity RecordedSafety Observations and Hazard IDsIncident Action Items CompletedInspection action Items IdentifiedMedical Aid IncidentsFirst Aid IncidentsMotor Vehicle IncidentsLost time Injuries (LTI in Hours)Qualifications and Requirements: Working knowledge and skills in Windows based computer systems. Must demonstrate competency in business software packages such as Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.Strong knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulations/requirements. (Alberta OH&S, Workers Compensation Board, etc.)Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Must be comfortable talking/training in front of individuals and groups.Must be organized and able to work with little to no supervision, executing work based on established expectations.Ability to maintain data integrity and to extract data and prepare reports in an accurate and timely manner.High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation at project site.Energetic self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to identify top priorities in a high-volume multitask work environment and the ability to determine critical few and know when to communicate issues and escalate them for decision- making.Must be able to travel as needed.PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to hear and communicate without hindrance and is regularly required to use hands to hold, handle or feel; reach with hand and arms, talk, or hear and taste or smell.Must be able to work on various projects under pressure, if required.The employee is regularly required to type, sit, stand, and walk 8-10 hours per day.
