Your Role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and ensuring a clean and safe work environment at our site. The appropriate candidate must have 2 or more years of low-rise residential experience in a high-volume production environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify actual and potential workplace hazards and proactively resolve issues
  • Inspect the workplace regularly and resolve any issues promptly
  • Make recommendations to Cachet and the Site Super about health and safety in the workplace and ways to continue to develop and improve our SOP
  • Obtain health and safety-related information and paperwork and ensure all paperwork is organized and well managed
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment at all times on site
  • Install safety rails as necessary and any other safety materials required
  • Chair JHSC meetings with staff and trade partners
  • Chair site safety meetings with internal staff, as necessary
  • Manage and coordinate all safety materials and documents necessary to ensure efficient tracking of safety violations, warnings, inspections etc.
  • Assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent as necessary
  • Work as a team in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Build relationships with inspectors, staff, trades, and homeowners
  • What You Bring:

    • 2 years or more of residential construction experience in health and safety in a fast-paced high-volume environment
    • Extensive knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other health and safety regulations.
    • Health and safety training and certification an asset
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, both oral and written. Willing to take responsibility and be held accountable for results
    • Skills building relationships with a broad network of contacts, including trade partners, inspectors, and suppliers
    • Proficient with MS Office
    • Experience with NEWSTAR an asset
