Edmonton or Calgary . Job Summary:

As a HSE Advisor, you will play a vital role in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment program within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in HSE management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating a safe and sustainable work environment. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate risks. Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on HSE matters, promoting a proactive safety culture. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop effective corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Develop and deliver HSE training programs to enhance employee awareness and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and develop action plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into business processes and projects. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement in HSE practices. Establish and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies, industry groups, and stakeholders. Conduct audits and inspections to assess HSE compliance and recommend improvements as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred but not needed). Or Equivalent experience. NCSO (preferred but not compulsory) Proven experience (2 years) working as an HSE Professional in a similar industry or environment. (preferred Electrical Industry) In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations and best practices. Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to implement effective control measures. Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and developing corrective action plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent are highly desirable.
