You are responsible for expanding the safety culture within our organization by maintaining our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Management System by developing and implementing a variety of programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulations and industry standards. You will be required to participate in the audit and maintain the Safety Certificate of Recognition (‘COR’) certification along with any other identified certifications.WHAT YOU WILL DODevelop, implement, and maintain safety programs and certifications, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety issues as they arise.Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near mises to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures.Overseeing and participating in all Occupational Health and Safety Committee responsibilities.Facilitate in-house health and safety new employee orientations and other training/education sessions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Performing other duties as allocated.WHAT IT TAKESApply today if you meet the following requirements:Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety diploma/certificate or equivalent.Holding/working towards a CRSP designation is an asset.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role.Experience with the COR audit process is an asset.Proven competency in the operation of key office software and tools such as MS Office Suite.Demonstrated knowledge to ensure all safety legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify hazards and assess risks effectively.Ability to appropriately handle highly confidential information and situations.Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.ABOUT PTIPTI is a leading innovator of transformer technology with expertise in design, manufacturing, delivery, servicing, and repair of small, medium, and large power transformers, using innovative, sustainable, and custom-built solutions that bring value and quality to our customers.
