Job Description

We're seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to provide leadership and strategic direction of Edon's Health and Safety Program. Your role will be vital in assessing risks, preventing injuries, enhancing safety education and training, and investigating incidents to prevent reoccurrence. As a center of excellence, this role is key to building a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

This position will require monthly travel within Alberta.

  • Provide OH&S leadership and guidance to team members in all health and safety initiatives and programs
  • Lead Certificate of Recognition (COR) audits from beginning to end including audit preparation, reporting, and corrective action implementation and follow-up
  • Manage WCB claims and monitor return to work programs
  • Identify and drill into safety vulnerabilities, creating plans to address and reporting on progress
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root cause and implement actions
  • Conduct site safety inspections and audits for buildings and projects, ensuring that employees and subcontractors are adhering to safety practices
  • Provide regular training and education to build safety culture
  • Develop and report on key safety metrics, providing recommendations
  • Identify and implement ways to improve the safety program in alignment with Edon’s digital ecosystem and strategic initiatives

Experience & Qualifications

  • Holds an accredited National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of workplace health and safety programs, practices, and legislation
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to promote and manage an effective health and safety culture
  • Experience implementing safety programs within a field environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
