Position summary

As a Health and Safety (H&S) Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining close relationships within client management, H&S committees, and employees to assist Securiguard to achieve its corporate commitment to health and safety. Reporting to the Director of Health and Safety, you are also responsible for providing specific industry/region expertise and guidance.

What you would do:

  • Active participation in all incident calls and investigations. Act as a lead investigator as required
  • Assist branches by providing accurate interpretations of applicable H&S legislation and in implementing the corporate health, safety, and environment (HSE) management system
  • Actively engage and support assigned branches in activities such as: safety program implementation, internal and external H&S audits, safety performance management, and proactive initiatives geared towards injury reduction
  • Network and liaise with external stakeholders such as customers, contractors, and regulators to facilitate and initiate H&S activities
  • Provide accurate professional assessment and feedback regarding risk management, such as the definition of reasonable risk and accepted safe practices
  • Deliver effective and interactive HSE presentations, workshops, and training programs that will increase the knowledge and participation of Securiguard' s employees in the corporate H&S management system
  • Coordinating and managing compensation claims and facilitating timely GRTW plans

What you would bring:

  • Passionate about health and safety practices
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Diploma and/or certification in health and safety
  • Knowledge in incident investigation (Root Cause, SCAT, etc.,) is considered an asset
  • A team player with great organizational, time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of return-to-work programs and case management
  • Ability to travel to branches and client sites on a regular basis to champion boots-on-the-ground safety
