Head of School Weekly Email: Holiday Greetings (& Looking Ahead to January)
December 21, 2023
And 2023 is a wrap! We had a full day of classes yesterday, with some holiday fun in advisory thrown in, and today begins a well-deserved vacation for students and staff. The Thetford Academy offices will be closed from today through January 1, and we look forward to resuming school in the new year on Tuesday, January 2.
Final Exams & Projects Week, Jan. 8-12
Looking ahead to January, there are two more weeks of the semester after holiday break. Of particular importance for families is the special schedule during our final exams and projects week. Check out this document with details about the week – and below is a daily summary:
Cheer On the Panthers!
The winter sports season is now in full swing. If you are staying close to home for the holidays and have time on your hands, please come out to root for TA. Basketball games are happening on our home court in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium tonight 12/21 (girls vs. Windsor), Thursday 12/28 (girls vs. White River Valley) and Friday 12/29 (boys vs. Randolph). And tomorrow night 12/22 the boys are just up the road at Oxbow. For our more intrepid track fans willing to go the distance, the indoor track team competes at UVM on Dec. 23 and Dec. 31. (The school calendar has all the details: thetfordacademy.org/calendars .)
Season of Giving
One of the ways we support the whole experience at TA – including Panther Athletics! – is through the annual fund. During this holiday season, please consider including TA in your charitable giving – and be sure to share the panther spirit with family and friends who might be looking for a way to give back. We welcome donations of every amount. Visit the TA website for more details and an online giving link.
Happy Holidays!
On this sunny solstice afternoon, we wish you lots of light and love through holiday season and into the new year.
Warmly,
Carrie Brennan, Head of School
