As the Head of People, you'll be visible and proactive, driving the People Strategic Plan forward and aligning the volunteer force with business objectives. Your creativity and solutions-focused approach will be instrumental in developing and executing People and Resource strategy. You'll need good commercial business sense and technical ability to navigate legislation creatively, guiding the team towards a new way of doing HR. Regular communication with both permanent staff and volunteers will be essential, ensuring everyone feels connected and informed.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with senior management, you'll champion change management initiatives and HR policies, fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation. With your quick thinking and motivational skills, you'll inspire the team to embrace new challenges and opportunities for growth.

You will be responsible for;
  • Develop and execute People and Resource strategy.
  • Oversee HR systems and performance management.
  • Establish a staff forum for engagement.
  • Champion change management initiatives and HR Policies.
  • Review and develop volunteering strategy.
  • Enhance communication with volunteers.
  • Collaborate on fundraising opportunities.
  • Lead volunteer development and competency initiatives.
  • Identify new volunteer sources and engagement opportunities.
Experience the flexible work culture with a standard 36.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You can shape your schedule to suit your needs, primarily based in Pickering, North Yorkshire, with occasional travel to other sites required. Enjoy the convenience and flexibility of work-from-home options, along with a competitive salary ranging between £45,000 and £50,000, depending on your experience.
