Job Description

Our client is one of Bordeaux's leading fine wine merchants and the exclusive creator and seller of Bordeaux's first super premium brand. Reporting to the Sales Director, the Head of North America is in charge of developing sales and distribution of the company's wine portfolio, in particular the super premium Bordeaux brand, as well as the Grands Crus trading activity in North America (USA / Canada). The position is based in Western Canada or US, and requires frequent travel to major Canadian and US markets. This role offers a base salary ($100-130k CAD range, based on skills and experience), and bonus, as well health spend and other allowances. Key Responsibilities: Define the business strategy in assigned regions to achieve the company's objectives Build/maintain a suitable distribution network Negotiate an annual sales/marketing plan with key distributors Track monthly local sales and shipments of the area to be in line with annual targets Organize field tours to ensure the rotation of wines in the markets Ensure the smooth running of ongoing promotional operations with distributors Ensure the follow-up and proper management of A&P budgets Propose and organize wine dinners to customers to increase brand awareness and sales Relay the sales offers of Grands Crus en primeur to distributors and potential customers and prospects Key Qualifications: Post secondary education, ideally in business or commerce 3+ years experience selling into both US markets & major Canadian liquor boards/markets (ideally BC, AB, ONT, QB) Strong premium wine knowledge (WSET diploma preferred, level 3 or equivalent considered) Passion for wine and related industries Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Excellent communication skills Bilingual (English/French) an asset Driven, dynamic and enthusiastic personality Strong business acumen & understanding of business tools & software
