As a key member of the management team, the objective of the position is to ensure the management of all HR parameters: training, recruitment, payroll management, OHS, as well as to advise the organization's leaders on the various aspects affecting the proper management of human resources within their department.

Key objectives :

  • Advise management on a wide range of HR initiatives, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, change management and HR administration.
  • Participate in the definition of the company's strategic orientations.
  • Design and implement human resources plans and programs in line with corporate objectives and strategies.
  • Prepare and manage the department's annual budget.
  • Responsible for the entire recruitment process (posting, pre-selection, interviews, offers, integration, etc.).
  • Answer employees' questions on HR policies, procedures and programs.
  • Oversee and approve payroll for Qc, Ontario and USA employees.
  • Maintain ADP system (leave and policies).
  • Responsible for OHS committee.
  • Ensure that occupational health and safety policies and procedures are in place, respected and applied, in compliance with current legal regulations.
  • Maintain an OHS prevention plan and follow up on actions taken.
  • Manage CNESST and disability files.
  • Promote and ensure that culture and values remain alive and integral to company policies and practices.
  • Develop and apply internal HR policies, ensuring consistent and fair management.
  • Design and implement effective tools in all other areas of human resources management (e.g. staffing, training, performance management, compensation, health and safety, etc.).
  • Facilitate labor relations and manage employee conflicts/complaints to ensure a harmonious environment.
  • Negotiate and conclude service agreements with external partners (group insurance, prevention mutuals, recruitment firms, etc.).
  • Meet and select new service partners.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations (OLF, CNESST law 25, etc.).
  • Develop and manage the recognition program (years of service, people section).
  • Develop and cultivate harmonious and honest professional relationships with employees, colleagues, partners and external customers.

Skills and qualifications :

Academic background:

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources management.
  • Professional designation from a recognized association (CRHA, CRIA, etc.).

Professional experience :

  • 10 years' cumulative experience in human resources, including 2 years' experience as HR Manager.
  • Experience in HR team management

Skills and requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of payroll and year-end processes (T4,R1, Summary 1)
  • In-depth practical knowledge of ADP
  • Ability to work with managers, supervisors and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of legislation, labour standards, ESA, (QC. Ontario), Occupational Health and Safety
  • Respect for confidentiality and professionalism
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to positively influence and persuade others
  • Demonstrate integrity, discretion and a high degree of diplomacy
  • Advanced written and spoken French and English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Windows environment (Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
