This individual will be accountable for Electification OCS and POS design.ResponsibilitiesOn-time Design submission by his operational teamLead establishment and Review basic and detailed design documents for ElectrificationTechnical Interface Management with Client, internal and external stakeholdersTechnical management of suppliers and subcontractorsSigning off all Electrification design submissionsProvide support on Electrification topics to System Engineering team (Grounding and bonding, EMI/EMC....)Respect of Engineering Management Plan and Design Quality PlanElectrification global performancesRequirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards, local practices, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer, and for transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialistsRespect of normative references and local standards rulesIntegration of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety (RAMS) requirementsIntegration of Operation and Maintenance requirements in the delivered designOperational analysis definition and validation by the Customer and/or their ConsultantFunctional analysis and specificationConsistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specificationsEfficiency of the transversal studies related to Electrification (CEM, Earthing & Bonding…)Applicable configuration and deliverables listTechnical interface management with CustomerOn-shore and Off-shore Design team management and coordination, including POS Design Manager and OCS Design ManagerPreparation of Design Reviews,Management of all correspondences (letters, minutes of meetings, submittals…) related to Electrification design activitiesDefinition and review of components technical criteria and management of technical evaluation of suppliersFactory Acceptance Tests (FAT) procedures and technical lead during FATBill of Quantities (BOQ) managementCollect the REX (Return of Experience) coming from the Regional CentersArbitration on architecture definition between the subsystems to reach the best compromise for the Electrification designReview and getting approval of design deliverables, reply to comments if any The Design team is mainly composed of on-shore located in Toronto, Canada, and off-shore located in St-Ouen, France, and in Mexico, Mexico.Reporting This position will report to the Head of Electrification and will manage a team of up to twenty. The candidate will liaise with: Engineering: OCS and POS Design teams, Central Engineering and Transverse Engineering teamProject: ELEctrification, OCS and POS management teamsSite: Construction management teamCustomer, Consultants, External stakeholdersO&M, Civil Works and Track works partnersInterfacing sub-systems (Rolling Stock, Trackwork, Signalling, Civil works)Regional CentersPerformance MeasurementsThe following points for the documentation produced by their team:On-time delivering: 100%Compliance to Engineering Work Package: 100%Respect of Design For Quality (DFQ) milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of their MetierRespect of performances of the system provided: 100%The quality of the works performedEducational RequirementsMandatory:Bachelors Degree of Science in Engineering, or scientific subjectsProfessional Engineer designation as per Canadian regulations, or in progressDesirable:Masters Degree in Business Administration and/ orMasters Degree in Project ManagementExperienceA minimum of 10 years of direct experience in management of design of rail Electrification projectsStrong experience with the OCS and the 25kV Traction Power Substation equipment designStrong understanding of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all Traction Power related systemsExperience in the oversight of equipment control circuitry, protection relays, applicable Electrical Codes (OESC, CSA, EN, IEEE), SCADA RTU systems, auxiliary power systems and grounding/bondingDemonstrated experience in project coordination, technical design oversight, planning and scheduling, maintenance, construction and operations, and standard operating proceduresA minimum of three-four years of experience in multicultural team managementA minimum of four-five years of experience in 25kV brownfield Railway Project/sStrong knowledge of Canada standards and common practicesAutonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in innovative technical topicsFluent in English, second language appreciatedCompetencies & SkillsCommunication skillsInterpersonal skills (teamwork and leadership)Decision-making abilityAnalytical and critical thinkingProblem-solving abilityResilience Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow’s mobility.
