Black River Anishinabe School is a well-equipped Nursery to Grade 9 school with approximately 230 students located on the banks of the O’Hanly and Black Rivers along the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, 150 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg. The community has a population of approximately 1,000 people with community services such as general store/gas bar and health centre. Qualifications: Bachelor of Education Degree Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for) A sound knowledge of provincial Middle Years curricula Previous Middle Years teaching experience A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum Strong classroom management skills Experience working with students with unique needs A commitment to differentiated instruction A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn Self-motivated Applicants are required to submit the following: cover letter current resume list of three professional references including email addresses and contact numbers, all of whom must have knowledge of the applicant’s performance in the applicant’s current or recent assignment Thank you for your interest; however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
