Job Description
We currently have a full time opening for a General Manager for Kelowna, British Columbia. The successful candidate will provide overall operational, leadership, and strategic support to Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lakeview Crematorium, Valleyview Funeral Home and First Memorial Funeral Services. This role is responsible for ensuring all locations follow Company policies and corporate guidelines. Will need to possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and procedures. This position reports directly to the Market Manager of the BC Interior Market.
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Grow/Maintain Market Share:Building/maintaining at-need revenue in the mega by developing/maintaining customer and community relationships and gain/maintain market share. Develop and implement marketing and revenue initiatives, working closely and cohesively with the sales executing of goals.
Business Planning/Expense Management: Effectively initiate and implement annual business planning. Ensuring managing expenses in accordance with locations budgets and are responsible for taking corrective action when necessary.
Operations:Demonstrate extensive operations and industry knowledge in the execution of all aspects of the location operations and ultimately focus on servicing the customer. Ensure that all aspects of services provided are consistently completed to meet or exceed SCI’s standards.
Staff Management and Leadership:Ensure individuals and teams get the coaching and support necessary for them to be successful in their jobs. Develop and maintain a cooperative and teamwork based culture. Provide direction and motivation to individuals and teams to achieve goals and objectives. Set a good example of desired behaviors with a focus on a positive culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience preferred:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in business development management and strategic analysis or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
- Strong communication skills, understanding financial statements, management over multiple sites and marketing & merchandising
- General understanding of strategic planning, project management, task management, empowering and sales management
- Understanding financial implications of decisions
