Job Description

The Division of Internal Medicine at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital has an opening for additional full-time General Internist. The hospital has 224 beds, excellent diagnostic services, a dedicated (closed) ICU, renal dialysis unit and a cancer centre. With a foundation of general internal medicine, our group members have subspecialty interests and qualifications in respirology, nephrology, infectious diseases, neurology, ICU and geriatrics. All General Internists practice cardiovascular medicine. A strong referral link with interventional cardiology exists with subspecialty colleagues in Victoria.

TERRITORIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Before Canada and BC were formed, Indigenous peoples lived in balance and interconnectedness with the land and water in which the necessities of life are provided. Health disparities persist, which are due to the impacts of colonization and Indigenous specific racism. Healthy lands, healthy people. Island Health acknowledges and recognizes these homelands and the stewardship of Indigenous peoples of this land; it is with humility we continue to work toward building our relationship.
