You will build strong relationships with donors and expand the Centre’s revenue streams, and you will:Support the Executive Director with fundraising opportunities and activities.Lead fundraising department and its initiatives, identifying prospective donations and grants to pursue.Develop and execute strategic plans and programs to obtain and increase funding for the organization and its programs.Develop and update the budget, aligning with yearly development plan, needs, and allocation of funds.Maintain and build new relationships with existing and new donors.Lead fundraising department and its initiatives, identifying prospective donations and grants to pursue.Manage portfolio of individual donors, both existing and prospective.Own the role and add best practices to increase awareness and sponsorship.Track and report on fundraising activities and metrics to monitor revenue growth, especially for Board meetings.Coordinate and prepare materials for meetings with donors, such as proposals, slides, etc.Manage the database of all donors with profiles, briefing notes, and financial insights.Prepare and submit grant applications and proposals for funding appeals/requests.Maintain and update funder agreements and other relevant documents.Develop and uphold donation policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.Ensure activities are aligned with donation policies and procedures.Other special projects and tasks as required.What you bring to the jobYou are a self-starting team player with experience in donor and corporate relations, as well as managing operational donations. You will showcase your great communication skills and have a talent for relationship building within diasporic communities, you also come with:At least 3 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector.At least 2 years of experience in fundraising and soliciting donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.Experience in grant writing, preparing reports, creating proposals, etc.Experience with donor management systems and managing donor databases.Experience with fundraising plans/budget, tracking fundraising and financial metrics, and preparing reports for Board meetings.Experience with donor communications and building/maintaining relationships with donors.Experience with developing and executing strategic plans and budgets.Passionate about art, especially from members of racialized and marginalized communities.Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.Strong skillset in organization and accuracy as well as time management.Confidence and resilience, with an understanding of how to handle power imbalances.Commitment to promoting with community-based fundraising models in Afro-Diasporic communities.Qualified job seekers are asked to apply with attention to Rhiannon Bodman.
