JOIN OUR TEAM AT COMMUNITY LIVING NORTH HALTON!Community Living North Halton,has been educating and supporting children & adults with developmental disabilities for over 60 years.Be a part of a community where everyone belongs and is valued.Why join our team?Make a difference in the lives of individuals supportedBe a part of a multi-disciplinary teamOpportunities for career advancement and personal growthInclusive and progressive work environmentSupportive team environmentFree on the job training; including cross-training opportunitiesCompetitive group benefits planFlexible scheduleEmployee Assistance ProgramRole:In this role, you can expect to:Work alongside individuals with developmental disabilities by providing professional support while engaging in activities within the community.Assist individuals with developmental disabilities/dual diagnosis with all areas of daily living including, but not limited to, daily living skills, attending medical appointments, participating in community life, etc.Support clients engaging in challenging behaviour while remaining calm, neutral, and effectively using Safe Management Crisis Intervention StrategiesImplement Behavioural Support Plans and Skill Acquisition Programs to support skill development and reduce challenging behaviourFacilitate and support Person Centered PlanningWorking within an interdisciplinary team including Behavioural Therapists, Recreation Therapists, and Skill Acquisition Specialists with a goal of enhancing quality of life, building meaningful community relationships, and helping to complete activities they enjoyParticipate in a variety of recreational activities that promote community involvement (including swimming, hiking, skating, gymnastics, etc.)Teaching and mentoring with the goal of full independence and social engagementQualifications:Diploma in human services field2 years related experience (Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience)Valid Ontario Full G License and access to a reliable vehicleExperience and/or knowledge in Applied Behavioural Analysis and Safe Management Techniques preferredCertification in CPR/First Aid with AEDCOVID-19 considerations:Condition of employment includes requirement to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or a valid medical or Human Rights Code related exemption.In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Community Living North Halton will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment and selection process to applicants with disabilities.
