Description:

The role of the Front-end Application Developer:

  • SaskTel will be looking for candidates with expert knowledge and experience in Client side application frameworks, extensive JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, GIT, Java and WebSphere.
  • In this instance, preference will be given to candidates who possess strong IBM WebSphere experience in addition to:
  • Design and build advanced applications which are reliable, scalable and which meets the high level requirements and/or high level solution designs.
  • Support existing enterprise applications by monitoring and troubleshooting problems.
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem solving ability is required.
  • Must have good written skills to document technical designs/research/support.
  • Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle.
  • Strong working knowledge of the architectures, trends, and emerging technologies as they relate to application development.
  • Continuous research and evaluation of new tools, techniques and processes will be required.
  • Ability to design WCAG compliant for web applications.
  • Solid understanding of PCI, web security, and vulnerabilities specifications.
  • Must have knowledge of SAML, OAuth Single Sign-On.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with other team members which may include business primes, project managers, vendors, developers, engineers and testers, etc.
  • Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to cross functional- team members.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Provide documentation for designs/new features & capabilities/research/trouble shooting.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including usability and general reliability.
  • Lead or participate in peer reviews on design or code walk-through.
  • Ability to deploy new features in different environments.
  • Ability to trouble shoot or debug problems in either a development or production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to define and design new features.
  • Mentor, support and provide guidance to cross-functional team members
  • Qualification Requirements:

    • The Supplier will download and complete the Qualification Requirements Summary document for each proposed candidate to show their education, skill and expertise in alignment with SaskTel's requirements for this role. The Qualification Requirements Summary document is attached in Section 1.2.
    • Once the document has been completed for each proposed candidate, the Supplier will attach it in the appropriate Lot below for the specific candidate.

    Anticipated Term of Engagement and Start Date:

    • The anticipated term of this engagement will be for a period of one (1) year with the option to extend one (1) year.
    • Such extension option will be subject to project requirements, budget, satisfactory performance of the Supplier with no increase in rates.
    • Anticipated start date of this engagement will be determined at time of contract award, if any.
