Job Summary

The Financial Services Branch provides a wide range of financial and administrative services, including: accounts payable; revenue and accounts receivable management; budget development and monitoring; financial reporting; development and maintenance of the Ministry's chart of accounts; policy advice; assistance and guidance regarding development and implementation of financial systems; emergency response preparedness; management of adequate space requirements, including maintenance, moves, heating, lighting, furniture standards, and janitorial and security services.

The Financial Analyst provides central financial analyst services as part of the Financial Operations Branch team supporting the Economy Sector ministries, including ensuring the timely preparations of Month End, Quarter End and Fiscal Year End reports, monitors and reconciles balance sheet STOBs and provides expert knowledge and guidance in correcting issues while advising on policy and procedures to financial program staff. The position has a responsibility to back-up and support an FO21 position within the Branch providing similar financial analyst services to their alternate/responsible ministry portfolios.

Job Requirements:

Diploma in the field of financial management, such as the Financial Management Certificate Program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum one (1) year experience analyzing and developing financial reports. Experience in financial account reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining internal controls. Experience in the application of finance and administration policies and processes. Experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook. Preference may be given to candidates with:

Experience coordinating Quarter End/Fiscal Year End Financial Reporting Packages. Experience in applying and interpreting CPPM (Core Policy and Procedures Manual), including Capital Asset Policy & Procedures. Experience working in the CFS (Corporate Financial System) Financials (including the AP (Accounts Payable), GL (General Ledger), and PO (Purchase Order) modules);or experience with other, similar large financial systems may be considered as equivalent. Experience in CFS Oracle Fixed Asset Module. Experience in running, analyzing and/or developing Oracle Analytics Reporting tool reports.
