Job Title: Financial Controller - ConstructionLocation: Vancouver, BCJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our respected clientsteam. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the construction industry. This role requires a deep understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and experience with Jonas software. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing financial risks.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and GAAP.Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts.Provide financial analysis and projections to support business planning and decision-making.Analyze variances and report on financial performance.Monitor project costs and ensure they are within budget.Work closely with project managers to control expenditures.Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.Conduct regular audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance.Identify and mitigate financial risks.Utilize Jonas software for financial management and reporting.Ensure the financial systems are efficient and support the companys needs.Train and support staff in using financial software.Manage and mentor the finance team.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other financial legislation.Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities as required.Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
