Finance Manager – EV and Energy

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the largest Motorway Service Area operator in the UK as a Finance Manager in a newly created role due to sustained growth. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established and successful Private Equity-backed business, within the rapidly changing environment of the EV and Energy team – working to deliver on Moto’s top strategic priority “Leading the transition to clean energies”.
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manger – EV, the successful applicant will be supporting the senior team with setting the direction of the EV business, through financial modelling and data analysis. This will include helping to guide policy, supporting strategy decisions, and informing negotiations. As Moto’s EV offering matures over the coming years, this role will support on all finance activities relating to funding, procuring, and deploying EV charging infrastructure. As the EV business grows, the role will evolve with it – with progression in-mind.

You will be responsible for:
Analyse and conduct due diligence on project (financial) information including: financial reports, financial models and projections, and asset data
Build and operate long-term financial models across numerous strategic scenarios
Research into industry trends and dynamics, particularly gaining an appreciation for the interplay between Power, Energy (both Grid and Solar on supply side), and EV/eHGV customer behaviour on the demand side
Assist in preparing documents including; presentations, operational reporting, investment appraisals, information memoranda and reports
Assist with debt cashflow and covenant compliance modelling where necessary
Liaise with other parties (legal, diligence) and manage process timelines including key deliverables
Build knowledge of EV and Energy markets (e.g. Current activity, key players, trends)
Actively engage and support in relationship management with Charge Point Operator (CPO) partners
What skills you’ll need:
CFA, ACA, CIMA, or Bank Analyst Programme qualified, or equivalent
Experience within a similar role
Advanced Excel modelling skills, incl. Power Pivot/Power Query
BI tool experience is desirable, must have an interest and willingness to learn (PBI / Tableau)
Able to work collaboratively and influence at all levels of the organisation
Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
