Global Finance is one of the key Functions which form the common core of Haleon's operating model and approach.

We provide the partnership, strategic counsel and support services the business units need to operate efficiently and effectively. This enables them to focus on developing, manufacturing and delivering products to the consumers who need them. This role will add value to the Canadian organization through Sales Finance business support, supporting a strong accounting and internal control environment and acting as an "internal" consultant via special projects.

We are looking a student or new grad to join us for a 12-month internship in our Finance team. If you are looking for an opportunity to sharpen your skills and gain valuable experience in the CPG industry, this role might be just what you've been looking for.

Job Purpose:

This role will assist with ensuring revenues and expenses are properly recorded and liabilities adequately anticipated and perform a critical support role with ensuring trade agreements and promotions are accurately managed using the trade management system. You will help to improve Canada's financial management reporting environment and will play a critical role in project work to deliver on Canada's business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR Finance career. These responsibilities include some of the following...

Business Support (30%)
  • Ensure all financial processes for the Customer Account Teams are compliant with Haleon policies, International Financial Reporting Standards, and government regulations
  • Provide financial support and business partnering to assigned customer team, which will include the opportunity identification process and enable decision making on Account Teams' go-to-market approach.
  • Review spend and analyze customer net sales performance, variance to budget. Proactively identify risk and opportunity and propose mitigation plan
  • Decision support on Net Revenue Management initiatives assessment and complete Return on Investment analysis
  • Support a consistent monthly Customer profitability model that links Customer P&L, Brand P&L and Company P&L views.
  • Assist Sales Finance Manager in data gathering and analysis


Accounting and Controls (30%)
  • Ensure that revenues and expenses are properly recorded, and liabilities properly anticipated
  • Contribute to Trade Spend reporting and forecasting for sales teams
  • Support Finance Manager, Sales Business Partnering with planning, processing and audit of Trade Agreements
  • Support internal and external audit preparation/process


Project Work (40%)
  • Assist Sales Finance Manager on team initiatives
  • Assess effectiveness of internal processes and propose improvement opportunities
  • Report design and development within PowerBI to improve KPI visibility


Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Must be available for the total duration of the 12-month contract
  • Enrolled (or graduated within last two years) (business, accounting/finance focus)
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel is preferred
  • Solid understanding of finance fundamentals
  • Financial acumen and understanding of CPG industry
  • Ability to work with multiple levels within the organization effectively and across multiple functions (e.g. Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Administration)
  • Role requires a professional self-starter with strong organizational and trouble shooting skills
