You will be responsible for the coordination/planning and execution/supervision of activities related to the repair, maintenance, and installation of mining process equipment. Your role plays a crucial part in maintenance work as well as knowledge in mining equipment. In this position, you will report to the Field Service Manager.This position is mainly located in Sudbury, North Bay, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Prince George, British Columbia but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. however, it involves up to 80% of travel to customer sites.Team you belong toYou will join a team of Field service experts dedicated to the repair, maintenance, and installation of Metso’s mining process equipment.Our team culture is all about solving and getting things done. The members in our team are in various locations and coordinate with Interfaces with Operations Team, Manager of Administration/Accounting/Field Service Support team.What you’ll doPrior to arrival at a field assignment, study, plan, and prepare for field work based on the detailed scope of work, drawings, company procedures, specific instructions, etc.Work in liaison with the various technical support staff within Metso’s organization.Provide advisory services during installation, checkout, start-up, and commissioning.Coordinate field activity with the customer and/or the customer’s contractor(s).Assist the customer in executing the work to maintain the field schedule.Advise mill or contractors crew in safely performing maintenance, repairs, and upgrade work.Troubleshoot mechanical problems and assist with corrective action and repairs.Recommend operating and maintenance procedures to insure proper function of equipment.Train customer staff in proper methods to maintain and repair the equipment.Write field reports for submission to the customer and internal departments outlining problems encountered, action(s) taken, and future recommendations.When appropriate, make recommendations to improve field methods and/or efficiency.Submit expense statements according to Metsos travel policies and procedures.Carry out other service-related tasks as a member of Metsos Service Group as may be requested by the Field Service Manager.Travel (both domestic and international) may be required as needed.Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.Who you areMillwright certification or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years’ experience in field service.Ability to lead, plan, and organize field service assignments.Motivated, customer oriented.Good communication skills, mandatory fluency in English, oral and written.Fluency preferred in French, oral and written.Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings in the English and Metric System.Product knowledge of Metsos equipment.Adequate computer skills, capable of working with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes e-mail.Willingness to travel to job sites including for extended periods, up to 70% of the time as may be required to meet customer’s needs.Capable of carrying out duties under pressure with the potential for 16-hour workdays.Willingness to respond to field service emergency calls on a 24-hour/7-day basis.Apply and respect company policies, objectives, goals, safety, and ISO 9001 quality standards.Whats in it for youWellbeing and safety - benefit from occupational healthcare, generous benefits plan, healthy living rewards, mental well-being services, on-site gym, meal benefits, car/bicycle benefits, and engagement surveys.Annual bonus - global incentive programs tied to business and performance targets.Hybrid working possibilities - while we are big advocates of meeting and collaborating in person, we believe in fostering a flexible work environment.Extensive learning opportunities - ongoing growth dialogues, internal mobility, mentoring programs, education assistance, ambitious projects, and global opportunities.Worldwide support - leverage our network of peers across the world, offering valuable assistance.
