Field Service Engineer/Technologist - Power Protection

Your role and responsibilities

This role requires strong hand-on power delivery service, technical and mechanical skill, leadership, business acumen and highly effective communication skills. Test, commission, program, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, retrofit and install Power Protection equipment like UPS, PDU and STS. Using specific tools, do report for each customer visit by equipment to have the trackability. Review and prepare MOP, preventive maintenance, etc. Monitor / follow-up the fleet using software tools like IUPS-Guards. Participate in the Power Protection meeting. Develop service work scope and assist with estimates for proposal activities. Schedule and execute jobs on-time and on-budget with world-class quality. Plan, coordinate, lead and direct activities for self and team to maximize productivity, utilization, and profitability. Identify and implement cost and process improvement and standardization to continuously improve cost productivity. Reach out to customers to grow service opportunities & suggest recommendations. Work closely with our sales team to maintain, develop and expend customer base. Applies safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental. Report unsafe practices and incidents.

Qualifications for the role

  • Engineer or Certified Electrical Technologist with Electrician certification, with proven experience.
  • 5 years + experience in a service organization.
  • Familiarity with environmental protection procedures and electrical safety practices.
  • Make a work site and site activities safe for self and all other members of the site team.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to understand documented instructions, procedures, drawings and develop the same as well.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally 50% of the time, work overtime/weekends and respond to weekend and off-hours service requests as required.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a project / work scope / team with a minimum of supervision with customers and team members.
  • Fluent in both language French and English is an asset.
  • Entrepreneurial, Strong customer focus with ability to generate work and develop strong customer relations.
  • Effective computer and systems skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc).
