Job Description

Magnet is helping our client, a progressive CPG organization in the Food & Beverage space, look for a Field Sales Manager to join their team and lead their Retail Field Sales sector. In this role, you will play a significant part in shaping the company's sales operations, strategy and overall, be responsible for the Field Sales, Merchandising and Distribution across both existing and new Retail customers.


Having previous experience leading a team in a Retail CPG selling environment is a must for this position.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Coach, train and lead a team of territory sales reps to help drive team development, retention and in-store excellence
  • Participate in the development of and support the Company’s strategic plans as part of the company’s management team
  • Champion best practices and establish a high bar for executional excellence at Retail level
  • Ensure that the business wins at retail every day in a highly competitive category, by delivering best in class sales and merchandising sales, influence and execution with retail customers
  • Establishes team goals and communicates them to help achieve performance targets
  • Develop, monitor and report on strategic and daily, weekly, monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) which measure executional excellence, efficiency and achievement of targets
  • Analyze data to identify growth opportunities and solutions


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of field sales, route sales or merchandising leadership, preferably in CPG/Food
  • Strong people management skills and experience leading/coaching high-performing sales teams
  • Experience developing and deploying in-store sales processes to deliver best in class in-store results
  • Experience with insight development and fact-based selling to create winning selling solutions
  • Route sales planning and management experience
  • Proficient with technology (MS Office, route management and selling hardware/software)
  • Versatile in all scenarios acting in a calm and respectful manner
  • Organized and solution oriented
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with propensity to jump in, roll up your sleeves and contribute wherever is needed to get tasks done and contribute to the success of the team and the business
