WildBrain Studios is looking for a Colour Designer to join the team on our feature film!In this role, you are an essential creative member of the design team. Working under the supervision of the Production Designer and Art Director, you will execute key colour keys and style guides for the production. In addition, you will work on set and character designs, developing the colour for new and existing design assets ensuring that the show style is maintained at each stage. You will strive to maintain the show style with your designs and keep them working within the story specifications. You train, mentor and motivate new designers on the crew and communicate effective and production-friendly solutions when requested. Find a job that let’s your imagination run wild! Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You'll Do:Create character and set colour style guides for surfacing and furCreate sequential colour keys for lighting.Create graphicsCollaborate creatively with the design and modelling departmentsKeep current with scripts and animatics to inform design choicesLearn and adhere to established production methodologyCreate original designs on show style according to production scheduleEnsure design viability is appropriate to the modelling and animation budgetIdentify and communicate any issues, concerns of efficiencies to production or art director as appropriateExecute changes on designs based on feedback from art directorWhat You'll Bring:Demonstrated feature level digital painting skillsStrong understanding of staging with light, colour and valueExperience creating colour keys for animated productionsStrong technical drawing and colour fundamentalsAble to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideasAble to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficientlyAbility to take direction, collaborate with others, and embrace changeStrong problem solving skills
