Fashion Designer

Job Summary:
The Designer works under the direction of the Divisional Design Manager, and in partnership with the Product Manager, delivers a focused and inspiring assortment each season for the assigned product line.
Key responsibilities:
Translate vision and emerging trends into the assigned product lines based on concept direction
Maximize sales and gross profits, minimize shuffles and unplanned markdowns (with Product Manager)
Create and coordinate multiple pieces that aim to satisfy our clientele and corresponds to our brand image
Work with technical designers, patternmakers, and fit technicians to ensure our clothing corresponds to our specifics.
Build a relationship with the Buying team that fosters development of innovative, relevant and fashion-forward designs.
Build a relationship with the Production team that takes into consideration manufacturing limitations, yet pushes our expectations of quality, lead time and price value.
Research and develop new fabrics, washes, trims and finishes that are within our cost constraints and elevate the brand
Adhere to design calenda
Shop international and domestic market for seasonal research
Qualifications:
DEC or Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design
Minimum 7 years experience design experience
Detailed oriented, self-motivated
Good Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Word) skills
Strong color sense
Excellent knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
Bilingual (English and French)
Sound judgement and a good understanding of trends and the fashion apparel industry
