Family Nurse Practitioner

Location: Brampton

Salary $120,000 plus

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Brampton. You will provide comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and managing chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct physical exams, obtain patient histories, and develop treatment plans

· Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory disorders

· Prescribe medications and therapies as needed

· Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention

· Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care

· Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays

· Provide prenatal and postnatal care, including family planning services

· Maintain accurate and timely patient records

Qualifications:

· Master's degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner certification

· Current registration with the Nursing regulatory body in Canada

· At least 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner

· Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to manage multiple patients with diverse needs

Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to add to their clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner functions as an essential member of the health care team in the provision of comprehensive, multidisciplinary, collaborative primary health care services to the community. These services include primary care, occupational, minor trauma care, health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries, rehabilitation, and support services.

Responsibilities:

· Performs comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills.

· Practices autonomously and is solely accountable for his/her actions while practicing.

· Consults with physicians or other health care professionals when the client’s condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.

· Makes appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General’s guidelines.

· Prescribes medications and orders x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class

· Implements strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families or groups.

· Collaborates on the management of Members with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.

· Refers patients to other providers or programs according to the patient’s need.

Qualifications

· Licensed and in good standing with College of Registered Nurses of Ontario

· Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C
