The role will involve preparing estimates and cost consultancy services on a different range of projects. This is a hybrid role, with an opportunity to work from home a few days a week.Looking for a stable Estimator candidate willing to invest in the company long term.Project DetailsThe estimator will be preparing construction cost estimates at various design and construction stages for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects.The ideal Estimator candidate will be PQS qualified, but the company is also open to hiring Junior Estimator if they are still pursuing their PQS qualification.This is a hybrid role, with an opportunity to work from home for 2 to 3 days. At the begging of the job, there may be a requirement to work in the office more often to get familiar with the procedures.Responsibilities And Duties Preparing cost estimates from feasibility through to pre-tender stages Developing unit cost rates from first principlesPreparing and issuing reports to clients to support cost estimatesLiaison and correspondence with client and design teamsLiaison with supply chain to gather cost information to evidence and support estimatesAssist in preparation in change order review analysisPreparation of life cycle cost estimatesDesired Skills And Experience Previous experience as an Estimator, Cost Consultant or Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 ; Blueline is an asset Superior communication and English proficiency skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely. Creative problem solver Strong understanding of construction estimates and the construction industry Experience and capability in carrying out cost and commercial duties Genuinely want to be part of our journey for the long haul Ambition and character to grow professionally and personally with the business Qualifications/Educational Requirements A professional cost or estimating qualification is desirable, such as a Quantity Surveying, cost estimating, or Estimating degree, or a Technical Diploma. Professional membership of the RICS, CIQS, PQS or a similar equivalent professional body is preferred.
