Job Description

Equipment Test Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Engineer)inWinnipegatBuhler Industries Inc.As a Field Test Engineer with Buhler Versatile Inc. you will lead the testing functions within ourR & D department for all prototype tractors and tillage equipment. This position involves in-house and field testing within Winnipeg and throughout North America. The ideal candidate will bring a farming background and have a good understanding of the workings of tractors and tillage equipment. You will be good with both operational and the mechanics of this type of equipment. Candidates with other similar equipment experience may also be considered.Responsibilities:●Develop test environments and test cases for all mechanical and electrical systems ●Identify relevant testing including set up of test equipment based on information provided by the design teams. ●Set up and operation of data acquisition equipment for testing (select, calibrate, install) ●Analyze test results, detect issues and track root causes ●Detect and troubleshoot issues ●Collect and analyze data ●Suggest fixes and improvements and work with Subject Matter Experts in resolving operating issues ●Document technical issues and solutions ●Build automated testing systems for regular checks ●Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards (e.g. ISO) Job Requirements● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural or Electrical Engineering (or other related field) ● Previous experience in R & D (new product development) as a Test Engineer of tractors or similar large off road equipment ● Three to five years in the area of vehicle equipment testing doing strain gauge setup, engine performance, vibrations and noise, hydraulic flow, pressure etc) testing ● Experience in designing custom test bench for heavy components ● Experience with NI and /or SOMAT data acquisition tools ● Experience gathering relevant data and creating relevant test cases ● Experience writing technical reports on findings ● Must be hands on and comfortable with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues ● Become knowledgeable in the company’s quality standards and regulations ● Great troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify trends in findings ● Analytical mindset ● Good understanding of quality assurance is an added bonus ● Must be comfortable working with and the handling of heavy partsASSET: ● Ability to write custom programs using Lab View and Mat Lab#J-18808-Ljbffr
