Job Description

Environmental TechnicianCaledon, ONRole Purposedata procurement, assessment, and interpretationand conducting soil and groundwater sampling programs and environmental site assessments using a variety of techniquesof Environmental Site Assessments, including ordering background information, Freedom of Information Act requests and historical documentssubcontractors (ie. Drill Rig Operators, Excavation Operators, Ontario One Call Locates and Private Locators)of soil classification, particularly soil lithologies found within Ontario, is an assetwork experience supervising drill rig operators and overseeing the installation of groundwater monitoring wellsappropriate technology and equipment to collect field dataduties will consist of the preparation of site drawings / plans, completion of final borehole / monitoring well logs, interpolating data through analytical tables and assisting Project Managers / Engineers with general reportingenvironmental monitoring to document adherence to environmental protection regulationsfor field work, mainly throughout the GTAaddition to the Environmental duties of this position, the position may also require periodical geotechnical duties to be performedPosition Requirements: completed college diploma specializing in environmental engineering technology, environmental management & assessment, or a similar programto 2 years of environmental consulting experienceand soil sampling experience, including drilling supervision and oversight of monitoring well installationcompleting Phase One and Two Environmental Site Assessments, including site inspections and historical records acquisition and reviewsproposal and report preparation experience would be an assetto detail in the completion of project-critical documentationwritten and verbal communication skillsorganization skills and the ability to schedule multiple tasks within set deadlines for various stages of projects, including field work and reportingof Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19and able to work independently or in a team environmentMicrosoft Outlook, MS Word and Excel skillspeople and interpersonal skillsto communicate with a diverse group of individualsability to utilize current technologiesability to take initiative and leadershipproblem solving skillsstrong foundation of Health & Safety practiceshave a valid “G” driver’s license or equivalent and clean drivers abstractOur purpose At Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP), our people are second to none.
