Job Description

Job Description We are expanding our Mississauga team and are looking for an Environmental Scientist with at least 1-3 years of professional experience conducting environmental site assessments and/or excess soil management projects. Environmental Scientists (ES) work primarily in the field visiting client sites to conduct Phase I assessments, Phase II sampling and collection, and remediation activities. The ES interprets data from lab reports to develop client-facing technical reports, highlighting existing conditions and recommendations for improvement.Key Responsibilities:Conduct and prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and other environmental reportsConduct and prepare Phase II field investigation activities, and environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air)Compile and review laboratory and field dataPrepare tables, figures, and boring logs for inclusion in technical client-facing reportsAssist with scheduling, coordination, and oversight of subcontractor project activitiesPrepare and implement Health and Safety PlansQualifications Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field required. 1+ years of experience preferred in technical activities directly related to ESA, remediation, and/or excess soil management projects (i.e., drilling supervision, well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, etc.) - recent graduates will be considered. Coursework, internship, or professional experience in environmental assessment activities, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and sample collection. Strong understanding of Municipal, Provincial, and Federal regulatory drivers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Proficiency using AutoCAD or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs a plus. Attention to detail and excellent time management, balancing immediate and long-term work with varying priorities and deadlines. Comfortable in both an office and field environment, depending on assignment priorities. Ability to walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain. Ability to carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
