Do you have the ambition, enthusiasm, and technical capability to work with us as an Environmental Planner?Our highly respected and successful Environmental Permitting and Management team has an ever-growing portfolio of work, built on technical excellence and exceptional service to our clients, with a particular need for support on our infrastructure, power, and renewables projects.As a result, we are seeking like-minded and experienced Senior Consultants with considerable technical expertise in Environmental Planning to join our growing team in British Columbia. This role can be based out of our offices on Vancouver Island or in downtown Vancouver.Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approvals processes, to compliance management through construction and operations. Our team works collaboratively within projects to gain social acceptance and manage our clients commitments to the environment and sustainable development.At AtkinsRéalis, we offer a dynamic and flexible work environment with a strong emphasis on integrity, health and safety, collaboration, and excellence, with competitive compensation and benefits.Your role within the Team:Support all aspects of impact assessments for municipal, provincial, and federal processes including socio-economic assessment.Coordinate and guide efforts to obtain and comply with environmental approvals/permits for projects from regulatory agencies (municipal, provincial, and federal).Support the development and implementation of consultation and engagement programs.Contribute environmental planning advice and project deliverables in the areas of ecological conservation, sustainability, and urban and rural development.Act as a project manager responsible for the development and management of scope, budget, schedule, and quality.Independently coordinate and manage external subcontractors.Assist with the development of proposals, qualification documents and other business development related activities.Help to grow environmental planning / environmental assessment market share in strategic markets with a primary focus on BC.The Ideal Candidate:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Planning, Environmental Science, or related degree.5-10 years of related experience in environmental planning supporting engineering projects, managing impact assessments, obtaining environmental permits in BC.Working knowledge of environmental planning and sustainability related legislation, legal tools, processes, and principles.Experience in supporting facilitation, consultation, and engagement processes.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments at one time.Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in the English language.Full or Provisional membership in a professional body such as Registered Professional Planner (RPP, MCIP) or Canadian Environmental Professional (EP).Certification with the International Association for Public Participation, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or with ENVISION is an asset.Must possess a valid driver’s license.Compensation Range: Expected compensation for this role is between $74,000 - $124,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role.
