HAYS Manufacturing has partner with a Manufacturing Company in Langley, for an 18th month contract as an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist. Your new company Manufacturing company specializing in electrical products and systems for the Power Generation for the last decades. Their specialization lies in designing and manufacturing power generation systems and automatic transfer switches for low and medium voltage applications.Your New roleAs an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, your role involves developing, implementing, and managing programs to enhance environmental, health, and safety excellence. Your mission includes overseeing EHS for the business, managing sustainability efforts, setting objectives, and executing corrective actions. You’ll work closely with business leaders, analyze EHS-related data, and interface with public and government authorities. Your SkillsetIn your new role you will look for assertive solutions, leasd the internal and external stakeholders promoting a Safety culture for the company. Be passionate for continuing improving the Environmental, Health and Safety program. You must have experience with Work Safe BC (Knowledgable of the Electrical Code), and implementing Environmental plans including Waste Management, Energy consumption, Natural Gas, Spill management. Hard Skills:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university5-7 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite products.Knowledge of BC Occupational, Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and requirements. Experience with Incident Investigation methods Proven record of creating a strong safety culture COR Certified Auditor.First Aid certification Excellent communication skills – verbal and written (including PowerPoint presentation). Proficiency in interprovincial and US legislation (OSHA) preferred Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and environmental requirements Soft Skills: Problem SolvingLeadership Create content and leading from the front, Passionate for CI. Experience with Claims Management, Disability Management and RTW programs Strong leadership and accountability skills with the ability to influence peers (cross-function). Able to multi-task with strong organizational skills. Attention to details and data analysis skills.
