Our engineers are smart, flexible, and capable of solving difficult challenges.Responsibilities:Manage, mentor and lead a technical team as well as work on personal and technical development of its team membersStructure and staff the team, aiming to provide growth opportunities to team members and achieve business goals in parallelGuide the team to deliver high-quality products and solutions by following best practicesInstill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team’s code, architecture, and processesWork with your engineers and dependent stakeholders to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short-term and long-term goalsOwn your team’s deliverables and ensure shipment of scalable, highly available products that delight our passengers and driversProvide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team membersBuild teams that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each otherWork closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgroundsThink ahead and build for the futureExperience:You are fluent in English and French, written and spoken7+ years technical experience in infrastructure technologies and can contribute to planning and design discussions and drive technical decisions3+ years experience managing a team, guiding them through their career developmentFamiliarity with Platform Engineering (ideal), Site Reliability Engineering (required), Devops (required)Solid experience in one of the major cloud providers: AWS (ideal), GCP, AzureExperience supporting environments subject to compliance/security/privacy requirements (PCI, SOC2, ISO27001) a plusExperience guiding teams through major technology and organizational transformations, a plusAbility to communicate effectively in various forms, technical documents, discussions, presentationsBenefitsExtended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefitsMental health benefitsFamily building benefitsAccess to a Health Care Savings AccountIn addition to provincial observed holidays, team members get 15 days paid time off, with an additional day for each year of service4 Floating Holidays each calendar year prorated based off of date of hire10 paid sick days per year regardless of province18 weeks of paid parental leave.
