The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Professional Engineer to join our Maintenance & Engineering team as the Manager of Maintenance & Engineering. In this role you will be responsible for managing all engineering projects to ensure they meet our manufacturing objectives, and to maintain a safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities. You will also direct the repairs and maintenance of all plant equipment and buildings in a 24/7, multi-shift environment.

What you get to do:

  1. Identify improvement opportunities and enhance our existing facilities, infrastructure, and equipment through the management and execution of the engineering capital program.
  2. Develop and execute a proactive maintenance strategy and reliability methodology.
  3. Plan and organize engineering projects, develop the functional budget and goals, and provide direction for staff.
  4. Lead, develop and coordinate the capital plan as well as the engineering and maintenance budget for the plant.
  5. Provide direction and guidance to the Engineers and Supervisors regarding the design and selection/conversion/modification of equipment improving reliability, reducing costs, improving quality, marketability or continuous improvement objectives.
  6. Collaborate with R&D to identify manufacturing technologies, techniques, and equipment for the manufacturing of new products or improvement of existing processes or methods.
  7. Work closely with the Plant Manager to improve productivity, reduce costs, or increase capacity.
  8. Ensure accurate, up-to-date blueprints and filing systems of plant services equipment, electrical systems, and facilities for the plant.
  9. Partner with Environment Health, Safety and Security to identify cost-effective utilities services to minimize the environmental footprint.

What you bring to the role:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional engineering position with experience leading a team of technical professionals. Degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, P. Eng or P. Eng immediate eligibility is required. Proven general management skills, strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills. Innovative thinker with issue-framing and analytical problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to deploy resources effectively and exhibit sound judgment. Superior project management and budgeting skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate direct reports to accomplish company goals. Good working knowledge of EAM (CMMS) and ERP systems and MS Office. Advanced skill level with current office and applications software packages such as Project, Word, Excel and Access, ACAD, Omron, Indusoft, Allen Bradley, Elau. Strong understanding and experience of Technical/Production/Mechanical/Electrical and PLC Programming. High-level understanding of PLC, HMI data interchange mechanisms.
