Job Description

Reports to the Director of Engineering on all matters regarding the assigned and drafting issues. Drafter shall ensure to meet submittal dates in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Education Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management or Civil Engineering. Working Conditions Occasional site visits wearing PPE for all site work and in certain other locations; At times requires driving to visit sites Flexible to work overtime as required Minimum 3-5 years of drafting experience or 2+ years of cladding drafting experience Knowledgeable in the cladding industry, products and cladding systems Ability to design or complete fabrication drawings Communication with coworkers daily by telephone, email and in person Ability to work on complex projects Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to read architectural, electrical, mechanical and structural drawings Proficient at using the following computer software; AutoCAD 2022, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel Ability to learn new cladding systems, software and assembly methods Demonstrate States core values and work in a team environment Both administrative and technical in nature Job Specific Duties Check and ensure that all necessary drawings/documents to start the shop drawings have been received. (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical in CAD and Hardcopies-preferably IFC drawings). Attend a Scope of Work meeting with the PM and Estimator to discuss what was included in our scope of work. Coordinate with the PM regarding the approved samples (colour finish, products). Revise shop drawings per internal review and responsible to keep track of revisions Update shop drawings to suite reviewed drawings from GC, Architect and Consultant Prepare (BOM) Bill of Material, shop work orders (SWO) and IFC shop drawings for installation, including site measurements if required Ensure all CRs, NPRs, and SIs are incorporated into the shop drawings If the project is guaranteed, double check elevation drawings against the approved shop drawing Prepare as-built shop drawing at the end of the project Discuss and inform PM at all times of issues with the project Follow up after a week with PM for any outstanding RFIs Review site instructions with PM to determine the cost implications. If affected, provide quantities to PM for pricing. Coordinate as required with architect and contractor, if verbal follow up with email and copy the PM Attend coordination meeting with the PM if necessary Prepare shop drawings as per scope of work in coordination with the project scheduke Revise shop drawings as per internal review and keep track of the revisions Prepare shop drawings for the Professional Engineers review Revise shop drawings from the GC review as per comments made by the architect and other trades Prepare RFIs for discrepancies between contract drawings, scope of work, and installation issues Prepare Bills of material, fabrication work orders and IFC Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Engineering
