About the Organization

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day.

About the Opportunity

We are looking to hire anEngineer-in-Training (EIT)to join our team at theBell Creek MineinPorcupine, ON.,on a full-time basis.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position. The work schedule is either Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, or 4 days on/3 days off, 10-hour shifts.

In this role, you will work closely with the engineering team at the Bell Creek Mine to assist with project developments. An independent-minded, self-starter with good communication skills is needed for this role.

As anEIT, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide site inspections for site contractors
  • Liaise with the Operations and Engineering departments of the mine to ensure smooth communication and processes between the operations and projects aspects of the mine
  • Assist in day-to-day project tracking
  • Assist in regular meetings communicating progress and project plans
  • Assist in developing detailed plans for daily/weekly project execution
  • Reconcile performance against plans
  • Evaluate and participate in various project aspects from development, drilling, infrastructure installation, operational readiness and other various tasks
  • Other duties that may be assigned from time to time

More About You

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • Registration as an Engineer Intern (EIT) with PEO (or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and underground mine operations
  • Proficiency in mine planning software (AutoCAD, Deswik, EPS, Amine)
  • Applicant must be eligible to work in Canada
