is all about. Engine Field Service Technician Description We are looking for a talented Engine field service technician to join our team in Fredericton. In this role, you will be a hybrid tech, you will have a service truck, with an estimated 50% of the time working in the Fredericton shop, and estimated 50% time on the road, including over night stays from time to time. Some overtime and some weekend work will be required when needed for certain customers. You will be required to be on call every few weeks. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction. Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner. Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools. Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor. Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field. Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Completes training in line with skill and business requirements Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislations. To be successful in this role you will need the following: Heavy duty mechanic Journeyman certification Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience This position will require you to work on Cummins Engine platforms, mainly ISX, X15, B series, L series, N14 and some M11. Some training will be provided. Intermediate level of workshop experience required. Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Intermediate level of field service and customer service experience. Knowledge and/ or training on Onan generators (or generators in general) would be an asset. Knowledge of Quick serve and Cummins Insite would be considered an asset. (Intermediate): Completes complex internal engine repairs Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision (Advanced): Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools Larger more complicated engine rebuilds Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
