Emergent/Urgent Care Family Physician (200-1281)
This job opportunity provides rewarding small town Emergency/Urgent care work in a collegial setting within a modern facility with fully electronic medical record and First Net triage system. The practitioner will work collaboratively with an inter-professional health care team to provide culturally safe urgent care to patients on-site at Chemainus Urgent Care Centre.
Mandatory qualifications:
- Current Advanced Trauma Life Support certification or CARE course
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
- Must have completed the Paediatric Advanced Life Support course at least once
Physician must be comfortable with acute management of minor injuries and medical conditions, and familiar with procedures including cardioversion, intubation, casting.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Additional Information:
- Full-time or part-time positions available.
- May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):
- Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
- Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
- Flat fee: $6,373.80
- Fee Premium: 4.20%
- CME: $2,200/annum year 3-4 and $4,400/annum after 4 years in the community
Chemainus is a picturesque artisan village nestled between the mountains and ocean directly on the Cowichan coast. Located 30 minutes south of Nanaimo, and one hour north of Victoria, there is one doctor's office located above a pharmacy across from the UCC and LTC facility. Plenty of recreational opportunities, schools, facilities and a reasonable cost of living.
The physicians will work with a team, which includes Registered Nurses and other health care providers, to collectively deliver urgent care to patients at Chemainus Urgent Care Centre 365 days per year. 7 days a week (0800 to 2000)
