Together we are looking to recruit an Electrical Designer to add to the team in Toronto.Job Description:The Toronto office is currently seeking a designer specializing in electrical building services design complimented with the ability to product drawings on CAD/MEP. The designer will work with the project manager and independently depending on project scope. Candidates will be team players who are highly motivated with good communication skills. The candidate would work under the direct supervision of a principal or project manager.Qualifications:Possess or more years of experience in the field of electrical building servicesA with equivalent experience and abilities will be consideredDemonstrate a strong desire for advancement and professional developmentDemonstrate the ability to work in complex environment often driven by project deadlinesBe college graduates of an electrical building services programHave AutoCAD training from a recognized College and have exposure to electrical layouts and systems. Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP is preferredBe familiar with systems such as fire alarm, communication and other specialized electrical systemsThe amount of experience would adjust the level of responsibility of the successful candidate’s positionResponsibilities:Performing specific tasks assigned by Principal or Project Manager in defined timePerform site surveys as requiredPerform CAD tasks assigned within given hoursAdhere to AutoCAD and AutoCAD MEP standardsCheck layouts and services for continuityCo-ordination of drawings with codesSupervision of drawings between other disciplinesPrepare AutoCAD drawings from sketches, mark-ups and/or designWhen requested to prepare CAD drawing from sketches or mark-ups, upon completion verify CAD drawings against such sketches to ensure accuracy of workTo develop lighting layouts and co-ordinate with other disciplinesTo develop power distribution layout and sizingTo develop layouts of electrical/switch/transformer roomsTo be familiar with lighting calculations and perform such calculationsAny other tasks assigned by Principals or Project Managers required to assist in the success of the firmShare This Job Vacancy Related
