Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devicesFabricate control panels, wiring check-out.Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipmentLayout and plan the installation. Quantify and order required materialProvide input relating to the resolution of any design or installation issueEnsure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practicesInstall, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operationPull wire through conduits and cables through tray systemsRead and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installationsSplice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuitsInstall brackets and hangers to support electrical equipmentTroubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty componentsInstall, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panelsTest continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be replacing or repair following proper installation guidelinesRequired Knowledge and Skills Certified Journeyman Ticket or Indentured in Apprenticeship Program2-3 years’ experience high voltage, lockout tagout experience including circuit isolation2-3 Years’ experience in either industrial (Oil and Gas) or Maintenance projects2-3 years’ experience Reading and interpreting electronic schematics, drawings, and aligning to provincial standards2-3 years’ experience working with high voltage power equipment2-3 years’ experience commissioning and decommissioning electrical systemsMechanical ability, strength, and manual dexterityCapable of working at various heightsThe ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of timeThe ability to solve math problems quickly and accuratelyThe ability to get along well with others on a work teamMust be willing to work in remote job locations and at various heightsMust have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job siteProficient communication and reading skillsAbility to do very precise workAbility to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiringCompensation and Benefits $44.96 - $45.33 hourly rate5/2 shift, 8 hours per day – flexible to change per project requirementsOvertime is given at the rate of 1.5 times the employee straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.Overtime will be paid when an employee works on any regularly scheduled day offAll compensation and benefits will be in accordance with the Project Labour Agreement10% vacation pay will be provided in accordance with the Project Labour AgreementCamp accommodations or Living out Allowance (LOA) provided for work on siteTransportation to site provided Working Conditions and Environment Primary work location at site in Edmonton, Alberta with work and travel required throughout AlbertaRepetitive movementAble to perform in a fast-paced environmentContinuously changing work tasksAbility to work a significant amount of hours throughout the dayAbility to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kgAbility to work in all weather conditions and environments Contact Information:28 Quarry Park Blvd, Suite 310, Calgary, AB, T2C 5P9Telephone: 416.297.2600 Fax: 403-695-3090Email: gmrecruitment@aecon.com Aecon is an equal opportunity employer.
