Electrical Project Manager/Estimator for a Large Electrical Contractor based in Richmond, BC.


Your new Company:

Their portfolio includes Office Buildings, High-rise Residential and Mixed-Use Developments, Retail Spaces, Building Renovations, Institutional Facilities, Hotels, Warehouses, Entertainment Complexes, and Sports Facilities. Additionally, they maintain a fully operational Service Department and provide comprehensive education and training for all employees.


Your new role:

In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in the electrical construction process, ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and growth. Your daily responsibilities will encompass maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, consultants, general contractors, and end users. You’ll review contracts, handle material and equipment procurement, collaborate with foremen, superintendents, and project coordinators to assess labor needs, develop project schedules, and oversee on-site management. Additionally, you’ll review reports, create project manuals, and evaluate each project during close-out to identify areas for improvement and strengths. If you have experience in Estimating, additional responsibilities and compensation await you. You’ll prepare comprehensive labor and material cost estimates, create bills of material for purchasing, assess constructability requirements through field walk-downs, compare project documents for accuracy, and participate in estimate reviews with internal and external stakeholders. Throughout the project life cycle, you’ll assist construction personnel in tracking and understanding cost estimates, handle change orders, and ensure smooth project closure, including invoicing and cost tracking.


What you'll need to succeed:

To excel as the Electrical Project Manager/Estimator, we are seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a Red Seal field background. Essential qualifications include a minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial project settings, proficiency in the Accubid software, and strong familiarity with local electrical codes, materials, and installation methods. Additionally, the ability to interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans—including blueprints and proposals—is important. Our client highly values proactive individuals who demonstrate initiative daily. Collaboration and teamwork are integral, as you’ll work closely with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel.
