You will have the flexibility to manage your work on your own terms and define what work-life balance means to you.When you join CIMA+, we welcome you to a place that you can call home.Job DescriptionMission The Electrical Engineer or Candidate to the Engineering Profession (CEP) will be actively involved in new or refurbished hydroelectric power plant projects in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. More specifically, he or she will be involved in the engineering and review of turbine-generator sets and their auxiliaries, control and protection (C&P) systems, automation, switchgear, auxiliary services (AC and DC) and studies. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your technical skills on electrical and multidisciplinary projects, and to be part of a dynamic, growing team. This is a hybrid position based in our Sherbrooke, QC office.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering calculations to size power plant equipment (e.g.: cables, protections, load study, etc.) Design control and protection systems to control hydroelectric power plant equipment (turbine-generator set, substation/transformer, discharge valve, etc.) Design layout diagrams for power plant and substation electrical equipment. - Review and integrate systems supplied by third parties (sub-contractor, turbine-generator supplier, excitation, speed regulator, etc.) Participate in preliminary design and feasibility studies Participate in drafting technical specifications for contractors and equipment purchases Coordinate engineering with other disciplines involved in projects (civil, structural, mechanical, telecommunications, hydraulic, etc.) Carry out plant visits and surveys to prepare engineering work or validate work progressParticipate in plant and site acceptance testsQualificationsUniversity Degree in electrical engineering Member of lOrdre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) General knowledge of electricity production and the operation of hydroelectric plant production equipment Experience in the use of design software (AutoCAD and others) and Office suite Resourcefulness, motivation, enthusiasm, project-oriented with a strong desire to succeed Good verbal and written communication skills in French Knowledge of relevant design standards and codes, including the Quebec Electrical Code Class 5 driver’s license ASP construction card, general health and safety on construction sites an assetFor more information on this job opportunity, please contact Catherine TattaAdditional InformationEthics and integrity are fundamental values at CIMA+.
