Title: Electrical Designer/Project Manager
Location: Edmonton, Alberta (must be in location or willing to relocate)
Salary: $85,000 - $115,000

Job Overview:

TalentSphere is seeking for a talented and experienced Electrical Designer/Project Manager to join a dynamic consulting firm in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading electrical design projects, ensuring their successful completion. This role involves a mixture of overall electrical design work for the building industry (residential, institutional, and healthcare) and project management responsibilities (budgets, schedules, and mentoring juniors).

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Design:

  • Develop and review electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations for a variety of projects, including but not limited to power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
  • Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs seamlessly into overall project plans.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage electrical design projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or changes.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, architects, and other professionals to coordinate and integrate project objectives and needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and responsiveness to their needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 + years of experience in similar role
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
