POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Curriculum Coordinator – Ignite Academy, the Educational Intervention Specialist is responsible for the facilitation of educational programming for the Ignite Academy program. The Educational Intervention Specialist will provide feedback and support the development of the structured curriculum. Ignite Academy is an out of school time program that aims to improve educational outcomes for children from economically disadvantaged families. The program will be implemented in 6 schools in our region, and support students in grades 2-7.
The Educational Intervention Specialist should be results-driven, using evidence-based best practices to that will improve educational outcomes for children participating in the program, particularly supporting growth in their core literacy and mathematics skills. This position should have strong facilitation, classroom management skills, and knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum. This role will also work alongside the Curriculum Coordinator to track appropriate program and participant data to evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
