As a values-based organization, with the mission of working together toward a healthier future and improving life, we are searching for a Laboratory Technician in our Molecular Biology Laboratory, who will support the Division’s values: Client Centered, Integrity, Individuals Matter, Shared Responsibility, and Committed to Evolving.The position of DNA Analysis Laboratory Technician performs highly technical and complex test procedures in the Molecular Biology Laboratory to provide professional analytical services in DNA sequencing, DNA synthesis, DNA fingerprinting and various other types of genetic analyses using a number of established laboratory methods to a wide range of clients. Additional duties include: processing client samples, perform various routine and non-routine molecular-based assays, including validation/verification of new analytical techniques, generate accurate and timely analytical results, communicate with clients and maintain equipment, QC/QA records, and a safe working environment according to established laboratory protocols and ISO 17025 requirements.The Molecular Biology Laboratory is fast paced and highly collaborative. Candidates who bring a positive and service-focused attitude and who thrive managing multiple tasks and working within a team will be most successful in this role.Minimum requirements also include the following: 3 year community college in biotechnology, life sciences or related discipline (BSc. In Molecular Biology is preferred) plus demonstrated laboratory experience in molecular methods, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Proficiency in DNA sequencing, DNA synthesis, DNA fingerprinting and other types of genetic analyses;Excellent bench work skills with track record of high quality DNA analysis results;Excellent communication and organizational skills;Proven experience working in an ISO organization;Thorough understanding of QA/QC protocols.
